Yesterday was the 13th ww Sketchcrawl. It was the third one I’ve
participated in and finally it was a really nice day for it. Sketchers
from far flung places from Sapporo Japan to Singapore to Sweden to
Sydney spent the day sketching, alone or with friends and posted their
results to the Sketchcrawl site.
Here are some of my results.
It was a beautiful spring day and a lot of fun.
It’s a lot more work so I don’t do it as often but I enjoy doing oil sketches. I wish I had the patience and courage to do plein air oil painting. Here are some oil sketches I did in my studio from photos.

My daughter and I spent a couple of hours sketching the Burnside Bridge. The bridge was raised with bell ringing the whole time we were there. I was working for the first time in a newly reloaded Moleskine. I rebound it following the instructions on the Trumpetvine Travels website. I couldn’t fine Fabriano 90 lb paper at the time so I used Arches. I’ve since bound another using Fabriano artistico which I like much better.
