Mountaindale Plein Air

6″ x 8″ oil on linen panel.

I’m starting to get a little more comfortable with the plein air thing, although still struggling with some of the logistics.

  1. I see some serious improvement since the last piece. I love these trees, I find them impossible. It’s happened more than once that I’ve “edited” them out of my skyline.

  2. Struggle is an artist’s middle name! you’re doing good on plein air paitnging, I find it very hard! I like your newest post, the glow of the vinyeards..lovely!
PS: I posted your first portraits…talk about struggle. If you feel “mistreated” let me know and I’ll remove them in a a flash!

  3. Oh, this is good! Your trees don’t look stiff at all. I almost painted the pepper tree in my front yard yesterday, but just sat and stared at it instead. You’re way ahead of me.

  4. Ronell, I find it hard too.I think you did a great job with the portrait. It’s a good likeness.
