Spring has arrived and hunting season has ended on Sauvie Island, which means I can go into the wild life areas to paint again. Here are 3 watercolor studies I did on Sunday.
7″ x 10″ watercolor
7″ x 10″ Watercolor and ink
9″ x 12″ watercolor

Are you trending back towards more realistic depiction of the landscape now? Its not a bad thing, but I know where you were 🙂

Dan, you know me. I have no plan. 🙂
I would say that, since plein air painting is so challenging, as opposed to studio painting, that I probably tend to paint more realistically in the field. Partly, I just like being out there and painting gives me a purpose for being there and helps me pay more attention.

Thanks Bill. Its interesting how the location dictates your approach. I wonder if this is a common trait?
