I have been enjoying your journal very much. Your sketches are very good…..I can see clearly your talent for drawing so many things in such a
limited times and what you drew are so beautiful even the journals themselves are good with the creative background. I’ll save your journal forever
not only they are my favorite also helps me to remember where we went and what we did on the trip. It is also interesing to know how you thought of
certain things we saw…..sometimes, I felt the same way as you. Thank you again for sharing it with me.
Wonderful stuff journal! Aren’t the coatamundis adorable creatures? One place I stayed in Costa Rica on the Carribean side had a pet one that hung out with the owner. I spent a couple weeks in CR a few years ago and made a little self-published illustrated book out of my adventures. Unfortunately the files are in a very old version of Pagemaker and I haven’t been able to open them but maybe somebody could convert them to InDesign or PDF for me. But that’s just the kind of art business that takes time away from painting and doesn’t get done!
Hey I love your coatimundi. They are so cute! And you really captured its joyful spirit. It’s great to see your sketch book. Thanks for sharing your work. We’ll be back…
Lilly,
Thanks so much for visiting and leaving a note. I loved Costa Rica. My only regret is that we were kept so busy cycling, rafting and hiking that I didn’t get as much time as I wanted to sketch. Everywhere I looked was another beautiful sight. I’d love to spend a lot more time there.
By the way–I was “tagged” recently- which means I need to tag 5 other bloggers –And I’m tagging YOU! Information will be up on my blog sometime tomorrow. Hope you don’t mind being tagged… I really like your work!
I loved peeking into your journal, Bill! Sketchbook journals are so much better than photos; you put in what’s important to you and you remember the event like it just happened. Bravo for your creative books and sharing with all! Don’t stop.
Fabulous Bill! The book has a delightful immediacy, you write well as it’s so difficult with limited time etc. to capture the essence of travel completely as so much is going on. Thoughtful, generous, funny and gentle.

I absolutely LOVED looking at your journal. Ok…now tell me..do you travel with a small set of watercolors or do you add the color later? What kind do you prefer when traveling? LOVE IT… LOVE IT…. plus you seem to get a “kick” out of life in general. Love and Smudges….AnnieAnnieboBannie….
Loved the way you made the journal and was just curious what you brought along when you travel. Been to costa rica recently and do try to make drawings myself when on holiday. But usely don’t find the time. Only later when I’m home again. greetings…..

The journal is beautiful. If I had artistic talent like yours then I wouldn’t need to use photo’s in the place of drawings in mine.

Do you layer the colors in after you use the pen and ink?
